Kent College Hong Kong’s Online A-Level Programme is made up of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths. Importantly, learning is built around a STEAM approach to education -- we will teach learners to see links between your subjects -- focussing on how the knowledge pupils learn can be transferred across disciplines.
Built around a ‘flipped classroom’ strategy, which has been tried and tested on site at Kent College, Canterbury, pupils will work through self-directed study materials to gain an understanding of the core content and then attend regular live lessons to take this information beyond the syllabus, ask key questions, engage in debate, and present their ideas all while the teacher helps each individual pupil to understand how to apply this knowledge and extend their understanding.
Our teachers are subject specialists, with enhanced training to ensure that they are able to get the very best from learners in an online environment. For each subject, per week you will have:
2 x 45-minute live lessons, small groups will meet with their teacher to take part in lessons
2 x 45-minute self-study lessons, a blend of videos, quizzes, activities carefully designed to introduce the key concepts and knowledge you need to engage with the live lessons.
1 x 60-minute tutorial lesson, an extended live lesson with opportunity for 1:1 tutorials to review progress and feedback.
2 x 35 minute homework activities
